Verge gardening continues to rise in popularity across Greater Sydney as communities seek to realise the benefits of integrating nature into neighbourhoods. The role of law in facilitating and promoting verge gardens is complex and often opaque. However, legal frameworks can and should be implemented to promote the cultivation, retention and flourishing of verge gardens, providing a valuable boost to urban sustainability and liveability.
