BaptistCare reveal new mixed-used masterplan for Macquarie Park

BaptistCare has submitted its amended masterplan for the redevelopment of its site at 157 Balaclava Road, Macquarie Park. The plan will deliver a major mixed-use development creating publicly accessible open space and much needed housing.

The current BaptistCare site includes seniors living and aged care accommodation.

The new development will build on BaptistCare’s for-purpose mission and will help the transformation of the Macquarie Park innovation district into a vibrant mixed-use hub with community benefits.

The new development will offer a variety of land uses including:

  • Seniors housing

  • Co-living housing

  • Residential accommodation

  • Commercial premises

  • Child care facility

  • Health services facility

  • Internal roads

  • Recreation area

The development will include a total of 1,874 dwellings, with 20 per cent allocated for affordable housing across 190,000 square metres of floor area.

A new 9,100 square metre park, called Kikkiya Park, will be delivered, running from the Macquarie University boundary to the Epping Road boundary.

Kikkiya Park will be a naturalistic open space that embraces and showcases water and nature and provides a variety of planted and more open areas with accessible boardwalks, bridges and walkways.

It’s estimated that when complete the development will add 460 full time equivalent jobs and add over $59 million in annual economic value to the district.

The revised masterplan is now on exhibition until 1 July 2025, use the link below to review the plans in greater detail and provide any formal comments.
